Interior design for the DIY-er

One thing I love about kiwi’s is how we love to DIY! We’re not scared of a little hard work and love nothing better than having a project on the go. But having energy and enthusiasm doesn’t always mean you know where to start when it comes to transforming your home. Looking at that blank or outdated room can be daunting, and figuring out the best use of space, and how to make the most of that morning sun or quirky closet can be tricky. This is where an interior designer can come in handy.

Having a designer come into the space and talk to you about, not only your needs for that area, but your design style can give you a great starting point. I love meeting with clients about a room they’re wanting to makeover themselves and giving them my recommendations. They can then take my advice and the mood boards I’ve done up and run with them! I love being the spark that takes them from daunted to excited about their reno!

People often think hiring an interior designer is expensive and out of their DIY budget but it can actually be the best way to save money on your reno! A designer can get you heading down the right path before you start which can save you making costly mistakes. They can also give you tips and tricks that will help you ensure you’re not missing anything!
